/>“I’m interested in giving something for people to believe in. Hopefully
pedestrians will see these images and start to take notice of them, and build a
feeling of hope that something is out there. something to believe in. It might
be a bit too much to ask, but people need something when they are feeling
depressed to give them hope. In Medieval times gargoyles were believed to ward
off evil spirits. A myth exists that a dragon called La Gargouille which caused
destruction with it’s firey breath was burnt at the stake by a saint, but the
neck and head would not burn.  Its abillity to breath fire made them resilliant
to heat. These reptillian remnants were mounted on the town wall and became a
model for gargoyles to come. At the moment they have been put up on the roof
tops of PERTH (Australia) and MELBOURNE and soon to be apperaing in SYDNEY when
i go there tomorrow for my new exhibition.”—Yok
