“On my travels in Africa I witnessed how lucky we are in the 1st world to have access to free and fair media where we get to choose who or what we want to listen to. The 3rd world is not so lucky. Zimbabwean press is run by the state and those who choose to write for independent newspapers are often arrested for treason or beaten. Although South African press is for the most part still independent it gets dismissed on a daily basis by the countries leaders for reporting anything negative about the poor state of affairs the country is in. 

I left this stencil outside a newspaper office in South Africa in sympathy.

Freedom of speech is taken for granted in todays world of blogs and forums. We all have the luxury of voicing our opinions in a wide variety of medium. These are for the most part our last bastions of Free Speech. Thanks for, “Keeping it real”.
