Pablo Aravena (filmaker, NEXT): Eyerhyme live paintings Tokyo/Kyoto January 2004 featuring  Kami, Doppel and Hiraku Suzuki. -We arrived in Japan the day before and it blew me  away diving right into some Japanese nextness. Seeing Kami go off in Tokyo was  dope!  The temple in Kyoto was some real zen steez. Really felt the east there.

Pablo: Nano 4814 Met him in Spain shooting NEXT. Really cool guy from Vigo who gets up in all ways.  His signature is “el Choco” The squid.

Pablo: “Sisyphus” Painting at El Prado in Madrid. This is  what it feels like to make films sometimes.

Pablo: My DSC P10 Sony digital still camera bought it in Japan  and now I am taking pictures like a madman. Best new toy in a long time.

Alex: I was super happy to get my hands on copies of two books: King Size from Adams in Stockholm and Ninja #4 by Brian Chippendale. Also high on my list was the re-release of City of Glass in comic form.

Ckoe: Surviving this year with doing 
what i want to do, and that’s fun stuff!!

Pablo: Getting stopped in Queens by the police who  thought we were filming bridges and buildings for terrorist purposes while doing our  last New York city shoot. We got stopped for 2 hours. They questioned us, they asked what my religion was and if I wanted to learn Arabic. Then they searched our stuff, all  the time asking if they wouldn’t find any guns. Then they looked at my footage. We just  played it cool, told them we were Canadian and what we were up to. After making sure we spoke French by getting a Haitian NYC cop to check us out and they eventually let  us go. Other: had to be stuck outside in lille france for the night ...after labrona got mugged at knife point while i watched ....man we just sat there real bummed and tired ...with a ninja a psychotic drunk who was punching people as hard as he could in the face ...and other assorted characters ...have you ever seen the movie “naked” by mike leigh… it was just like that…

Eltono: The entire day we spent in Pataxo’s indian tribe at Monte Pascoal Natural Park in Brazil and the first time I saw brazilian girls dancing.

Alex: AJ Fosik made my year when he said “I’m sure glad I had
my breaks fixed” while staring strait into the Pacific driving down a steep,
steep hill in

Other: mmmmm..you mean those plastic toys of graffiti and design artists characters?i really really dislike those things ...i dont know something about having a piece of your work on the street being made into a clump of plastic that disturbs me.

Alex: My new power washer with 1400psi makes re-claiming
screens a hell of a lot easier.

What do you most want for Christmas?

Ckoe: Actually we celibrate  ‘Sinterklaas’ during Christmas anyway my greatest wish is that my new  film SadDog will be printed on 32mm film. But maybe that’s more of a  New Year’s wish.

Pablo: That we can survive the next 4 years with George Bush.

Other: just to be able to make rent and eat
everyday

Eltono: The end of the oil era.

Alex: If anyone wants to donate a black and white Xerox machine to Cantab…

What is your New Year’s wish?

Ckoe: Have even more fun… and survive  another year.

Other: people are being blown up and shot at all over the world for the stupidest reasons ..i wish it could just stop.

doing on  New Years Eve?

Ckoe: Next to
working during the holidays, I’m not sure yet. Last year we had the idea of
going to a deserted place and watch the fireworks from 
outside civilisation… But i’ll see, just like always…

days off to chill. New Year’s Eve I will be  partying with
