Today’s “Favorites of 2004”
come to you from Darius Jones in New York (recently back from London),
Mysterious Al (in London), Dom from Stickernation in Amsterdam, Chad from Kid
Robot it New York, JAKe in London, and Kid Acne, also in London.
Favorite Event of 2004:

Darius Jones (Artist): “Encierro” The Running of the
Bulls,
. Although centuries old, it was a
new experience to me in 2004.
Mysterious
Al (artist): My god, it was without doubt the ‘Hollywood The Remix’ show,
along with my entire trip to NYC this summer. Finally getting to meet some
really cool artists for the first time (Magmo, Jet + Rubble) as well as catching
up with friends (TLP, Galo, Skewville etc.) Plus staying in
heights! No doors! It
was dope.

DUNNY SHOW, and lastly Dooley-0 and Stezo reuniting on stage for the first time
in over 15 years at an FriendsOfSound event.
Kid Acne (artist/dj): The night when i done an exhibition
with She One, Picasso, Quentin Blake and Rembrant in Sheffield; meeting Quentin
Blake, drinking the free wine and then a barrel of Pale Rider beer round Will-
da-beast’s house for his birthday and going to ‘Lights Down Low’ above the Ice
Rink before passing out round Lisa’s.
JAKe (artist): Being in

with my girlfriend.Favorite Artist of 2004:
Darius: Charlie Parker, always.
Mysterious Al: Damn, this question comes around all the time. There
has to be a joint first place of

book.
Dom: It has
to be F*ck Your
Crew. Just the quantity, quality & sheer variety of work being put out by

Kid Acne: The T-Rex
piece he did with the bricks flying out of it opposite The Highway pub down
Pitsmoor.
Jake: Pinky’s “Mexican” piece. Seeing him rock
the full wall under pressure in 40 minutes without breaking a
sweat.

2004:
Darius: Kinder Bueno hazelnut chocolates.

Ummm, is gmail a product? I love it! I can fit a gazillion e-mails, with vicious
spam filters, and have all my messages grouped by conversation! It’s dope!

Mysterious Al: Anything by MF DOOM. 2004 was really his year with five full
albums released His latest, Mm Food is good, but my favorite was Viktor Vaughn.
Shit is out there.
Dom: After much searching I
finally got my hands on a copy of Way Back Home by the The Jazz Crusaders. Best song of 2004 and all
time!!

Darius: Most toys I like.
Mysterious Al:
Airgoose. Sorry. Had to say it (He got me last year).
Dom: I got bought this for my birthday which totally blew me away! Check
Chewbacca’s hands out… total wookie thuggery!

Jake: The one with the shitty handstyle that keeps tagging my door, ho, ho.
Favorite Website of
2004:
Darius: The
Mysterious Al: Audioscrobbler is
great. It logs everything you listen to in itunes and shows you other users who
have simillar musical tastes. You end up getting into some seriously cool bands
that you’d never otherwise hear of. Really cool.
Dom: Ach - I
see the web all day and browse a zillion websites. I always use the BBC website
just to keep my ear to the ground on a lot of things. (I think I said BBC last
year… ooops!)

What do you most want for Christmas?
Darius: Peace of mind and a flat to myself and a paycheck.
Mysterious Al: I have everything I could ever need. If someone offered me a
pair of 30” Apple HD displays, I’d be very happy, though!
Dom: Endless turkey sandwiches. Yum.

Kid Acne: A pigeon
stuffed inside a duck, stuffed inside a chicken, stuffed inside a goose, well
cooked with roast veg.
Jake: To catch up with
people I don’t see all year.
What is your
New Year’s wish?
Darius: That tomorrow
will always be better than today.
Mysterious Al: To keep
on producing successful work, to travel more and make new friends, to paint
more, to grow a beard.
Dom: That we keep
meeting nice people who like to share their art with everybody and keeps our
journeys interesting and the streets vibrant. This simple pleasure makes up for
all the shit in the world.

Kid Acne: To avoid as
many dick heads as possible next year.
Jake: Health and

How
will you be spending the Holidays this year? /What will you be doing on New

my friends from school, getting drunk and DJing at a party in an old recording
