/>Email of the Day: “I’m sending you a shot of the stencil work that I’ve
been experimenting with.  It’s a kind of edible form of stencil art.  I spent a
few weeks testing it out before I took the plunge to apply it to a Sony
Playstation2.  I was asked to customise one for an exhibition in Dublin and the
resulting work really surprised me. All the colours were applied using five
different stencils to create the textured effect.  The materials useded include
Turmeric, Cayenne Pepper, Mustard Powder and predominantly, MSG, which was also
coloured with food dyes to create the white, green and blue textures.  It’s
still pretty resiliant when it’s given a coating of varnish.  I’m now perfecting
the technique to create artworks that can be put up on walls on the street. The
idea of using MSG was to have that underlying sense of the addiction and the
addictive taste of MSG.  It’s a step on from using spraypaint and an attempt to
get more texture into the work and as I said, it’s work in progress that will
evolve in time.
Hope you like it. seeya… "http://www.sixsidia.com">Peter
