Detroit | September 4 | New paintings by BASK

CPOP Detroit presents,  “THOUGHTCRIMES & MISDEMEANORS”  New paintings by BASK

Opening reception Saturday, September 4th, 7pm-11pm
Exhibition will run through September 26th

In his third go -round with C Pop, the Czech-born painter Bask unveils his newest work in an exhibit entitled, “Thoughtcrimes and Misdemeanors” .  Three years as a resident of Detroit -by way of Prague via St. Petersburg, Florida, has influenced and imbued his latest work with a distinctly Detroit flavor . Bask’s Post-Pop cautionary scenario’s mine the secrets within banality, peeling away the layers of the media’s psychic wallpaper and artifice, exposing the symbols which we call icons, revealing a sinister manipulative element . Bask’s world is a place where product consumerism and social conformity vie for the same interest- our short-attention spans as they perpetrate Thoughtrimes and Misdemeanors.
