Chicago’s top street artists Juan Angel Chávez, Michael Genovese and Chris Silva come to Copenhagen to team up with local graffiti-based artists Affex, Clean 2, Rodeo One, Silencio and Straight Up to create a dynamic multi-media landscape of found objects, natural elements and mural-style painting for HOME SWEET STREET.  This unique convergence of styles and perspectives will address the notions of place, urban environment and impermanence through the works’ brief residence in the art space BASEMENT in Vesterbro.

The exhibition, with generous support from Republik Weimar and in conjunction with Copenhagen Creating, opens on Thursday, 18 August, 20:00-3:00 (30Kr after 23:00) at BASEMENT, Enghavevej 42, Vesterbro, with MELK live, dj Waqar (DK) and dj Tevo Howard (Chicago, US).

Weekend gallery hours are 19 Friday- 21 Sunday, 12:00-18:00, and a closing party Thursday, 25 August 21:00-3:00 with Theodor Zox live, dj Rumpistol and dj Thommy.  The Chicago artists will paint live at a special preview event at Mid Week Brakes at Rust, Guldbergsgade 8, Nørrebro on Wednesday, 17 August 23:00.
