From Eric"RobotHead"Orr:
“its
been awhile since anyone has seen my icon. i’ve been lucky enoungh to be able to
live as a working artist in atlanta for some time now. i’m back in the bx. with
a show coming in dec. 2004 with my new expression.
these photos were
taken by Kwong Chi back in Sept. ‘84 after a day of drawing in the subway with
Keith Haring. The “Dancin’ Dog” and several other drawings were done that day
after we were finished drawing in the subway. The repeat design,” Robot Baby
Robot Baby” was also featured in the slide presentation for Keith Haring “Future
Primeval” Queens Museum show in 1990. The dedication drawings were done at the
23rd street station in Manhattan. There was fifteen drawings done in several
other subway station that day.
After that day things just began to
happen artistically for me. I started designing for several deferent companies
in New York and in Atlanta. I still love what the younger artists are doing
these days as public art. Hopefully it will work out for them as well. I
especially love the transformation from typography art to logo “icon” art as a
tag. Anyway I will be checking in from time to time just to stay focus.”...
