“papier.machine is not a
magazine but a new way of art exhibition. because it is not linear but based on
the well know function : random. you use this function everyday (mp3 playlist,
surfing the web, watching TV, meeting people…). our future is not planned by
our acts but by random events in our life. lucky or unlucky. art is driven by
random acts. if not, it is like working in a fast food and repeating the same
task untill
death.”
Papier.machine is founded and edited by
Michael Peiffert, french webdesigner since 1999. Now live in Italy and work for
55DSL. As he was bored to see the same artists everywhere, online and offline,
he’s decided to create a new “screen magazine” more opened on young an
unpublished talents. There are 2 different exhibition areas on
papier.machine:
COVER : Very opened to all artists, it displays
randomly an artwork with a link to the artist’s website. At this time, there are
more than 40 differents covers in the database.
MAGAZINE : Selected
artists can show their works through this space. As there is no “issue theme”,
they can express themselves without boundaries.
Thanks to all artists
involved in this first issue. I hope viewers will have a good time browsing
papier.machine.
