Call From Submissions from our friends at Nissan

The good folks over at Nissan (remember
them?) asked us to pass along the following email to you.

/>“This is a great opportunity for NYC artists.  Please pass this on to all
your artist type friends.  We would like to get the word out as a grass roots
effort.  Please pass it on to gallery owners, websites, art lovers and
supporters.  The call for submissions is below and an ad is enclosed.
Submissions for white are due by the 6th of April.

Send me an email
if you need more information or have questions. Thanks.

On
Display

Current Theme: A Study in White.

The goal of “On
Display” is simple: To highlight the New York art scene. More specifically, to
highlight the newest, most innovative artists in a city loaded with creativity.
We are looking for submissions, including paintings, photography, sculpture,
architecture, installation art, illustrations and almost any other form of
artistic expression.

Here’s how it works. Infiniti is sponsoring a
large advertising billboard in Midtown. Nearly half a million people a day see
this space. On this billboard, we will display a small number of art pieces each
month. Featured pieces will be chosen solely on artistic merit and will be
displayed on the Infiniti billboard 24 hours a day for up to 3 months.

/>Also on the billboard will be a web address leading those interested in the
posted art to an online gallery. Here, we will feature all the art that has been
or is being used in our “On Display” billboard. It will also feature a short bio
on the artists and links to their own web sites or galleries.

Why
would Infiniti do this? As a car brand that is disrupting more traditional
notions of design, Infiniti feels akin to artists who take risks and embrace
brave forms of self-expression. And what better place to launch this movement
than the culturally and artistically rich New York City?

The first
exhibition will be “A Study in White.” This simply means that the color white is
the subject matter. All art, old or new, will be considered, assuming it is
based on the theme “A Study in White.” We are also collecting submissions for
upcoming showcases. These are “A Study in Red” and “A Study in Black.”
/>
All submissions for “A Study in White,” along with submissions for
future exhibits “A Study in Red” and “A Study in Black”  should be sent to
http://www.tbwachiat.com/NYCartists

There is no limit to the number
of pieces you can submit. If your art is selected, there is no compensation
other than millions of viewers a week.

Please pass this along to
any and all local NYC artists.”

To help you out in your
submission process, we thought we’d post the release that must be agreed to
before you enter your submission online:
