alexi portokallis. living in Johannesburg.  the street art scene here is small
compared to cape town, the graffiti scene is growing though. i have been in
love with the street art movement for a long time now and Wooster has been at
the centre of this romance!

i was reading a post a little while ago
about Che Guevara. who i believe is one of the most inspiring men of our time!
in south Africa 3 years ago his image was everywhere. on t-shirts, ties, caps,
u name it, it was there. the problem with retailers in south Africa is that
they choose profit over quality. they use anything to make an extra buck. they
would sell their own mothers for profit! well to cut the story short it pissed
me off that they used Che Guevara to make money. so i made a sticker. it was
directed to the people who used his image to be cool, people wearing it not
even knowing who he was. i used Che Guevara to tell them that they are all
phonies. this sticker is a statement to all that are fake. if you have seen the
movie true lies you will see where i got the statement “because its you.” in
one scene that fake trying to pose as a secret agent to get women, (one of the
best phonies of all time) uses this statement on Arnold to sell a car, he says
something like i will give this car to you cheap, BECAUSE ITS YOU.
