commercial ads fade over time, they evolve and often take on the characteristics
of street art. Frank Jump’s Fading Ad
Campaign
is an amazing website that documents all of the old vintage mural
ads that you see on brick buildings in New York City. For Jump, the ads are a
metaphor for his battle with the AIDS virus. Be sure to read Frank’s "http://www.frankjump.com/info.html">artist statement on his website. It’s
amazing.
