Announcing The Launch of INKEDblog.com
src="http://www.woostercollective.com/images2/inkedblog1.jpg" />
/>I’m extremely pleased and excited to let you know that this morning we
officially launching INKEDblog.com, a
new project centered around the art of tattooing.
INKEDblog is
something that I’ve been working on for the last few months with my colleagues
at ElectricArtists and our friends over at A&E Network. Similar to the Wooster
site which celebrates art on the street, the goal of INKEDblog is to each day
celebrate contemporary art on skin.
For us, tattooing is a modern art
form which today encompasses fine art and illustration, fashion, style and pop
culture. While respecting the history of tattooing and paying homage to its
roots, the mission of INKEDblog is to present a contemporary take on tattooing
and to look into the future.
If you’re a regular visitor to the
Wooster website, here are just a couple of the highlights you’ll find on
href= "http://www.inkedblog.com">INKEDblog:
—The
legendary Mike Giant has contributed
artwork for the INKEDblog homepage
—Each week our friend Logan
Hicks will be interviewing the world’s most famous tattoo artists. Interviews
for today’s launch include Aaron Bell and Guy Aitchison. Upcoming interviews
include Chris O’Donnell, Phil Holt, Jason Kundell, and many more.
—
Mark The Cobrasnake will be providing us with incredble snaps of tattoos he
comes across at some of the hottest parties each week
Our intention
with INKEDblog is to make it interesting and accessable for everyone, not just
for those who have tattoos. For us, it’s about the the art first. And because of
this, we hope that - similar to the Wooster site - it will appeal to everyone
and anyone who’s interested in contemporary art.
Let us know what you
think by dropping us a note at woostercollective@hotmail.com or
getinked@gmail.com. If you have artwork that you’d like to submit to the site,
please send it along
