We first heard about the artist Conor Harrington from our friend D*Face in London a few years ago.  D*Face had told us that he felt Conor was one of the most talented artists he’d come across in years, and after seeing his work, we immediately agreed.

The photo above are from a new series of pieces that Conor did at Arttrail 07, an arts
event in Cork, Ireland (Cornor’s home town) which invites artists to work in and respond to a particular area of the city.

The Shandon area of Cork is a historical part of the city and an area undergoing a lot of social change with the influx of immigrants in recent years.Conor’s studio work has always addressed the transient nature of both graffiti and society in general, and he wanted to highlight this impermanence by putting up charcoal on paper pieces, to see how the weather interacts, and decays the piece.

Keep an eye out for Conor’s next gallery show in London which opens at Lazerides Gallery inout ab five weeks.
