Barry McGee Hit’s Detroit

contdet.jpg

From Puke cjs:

Barry Mcgee and Josh Amaze came to Detroit this past week to be included in the first show at the the Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit, which opened on Thursday. Barry and Josh did huge pieces spanning the front and side of the Museum, a converted old warehouse on Woodward avenue in the heart of Detroit. The Museum is just what Detroit needs in these dark yet passionate days. As the boys painted so many locals stopped by with warm comments on the graffiti. In any other gallery location in other cities, the graffiti would look out of place, but on Detroit’s decapitated streets, it fits beautifully in. Detroit is so happy and thankful the boys came to town.
