"Wooster's How To..." #16 - "Feral's How To Go Big"

Click on the link below to see more suggestions from Wooster readers on how to "Go Big"

From Ralf: "corel draw has the gimmick to print out real big images on A4 sized papers, you just have to cut off the white borders your printer can't reach and paste it all together on a big enough paper or whatever if you don't want to be caught with 200 sheets of paper pasting for hours on the same spot to get your one single piece done."

From Uneek One: "I saw your question this morning & figured I'd drop dime on: http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/ (Basically they're a free service that takes an image that you e-mail to them, and send it back to you in a printable PDF, all tiled and ready to go... It's just up to you whether or not to trim off the white, before you tape them togeteher.) I like it cuz you can go really f'n big (20 meters), and you never have to leave your house. I mean, we all know you can go down to Kinkos and have them print out your posters... But I really don't want some schmuck from Kinkos, getting that intimate with what I'll be using to decorate the town. Eh, I think they're great... You should check out some of the posters people have done using the service. "It's a good thing!" (Martha Stewart voice)"

From Rone: "Get your image (assuming you have one) ready to stencil, black & white, you know. Take it into kinko's [ http://www.fedexkinkos.com.au/companyinfo/locations.html ] get them to blow it up as big as they can. Then glue your big image to a big bit of cardboard ( go see a bike shop, ask for a bike box) then cut it out, spray it onto paper then go wheatpaste it up like this: http://www.november.com.au/w06/media/video/rone.mov see here for paste instructions: http://www.buildresources.org/resources/html/wheatpaste_101.html See here for other examples: http://artist.stateofflux.com/rone"

From Pure Evil: this will help.... http://www.graffitiTV.net/index10.html

From Matt: "you can put the image on the computer, enlarge it in photoshop by quite a lot. then open Microsoft Publisher, and use a poster or banner layout. then copy and paste the image from photoshop in to publisher and you can then enlarge it further without it being too pixelated! then just print it out, and cut it out!"

From Ken: "get a big ass peice of cardboard, then get a picture and seperate it into 2.75" x 4.25" sections. cut out the sections and go to kinkos and use the copy machines to blow it up to be 11" x 17" (ask the guy for help if you dont know how to use the machines, theyre tricky at first) then glue the copies onto the big ass peice of cardboard, put it on grass and laydown cuttin it out with a big ass knife (always cut away) kinkos tip: check the machines or front desk for cards laying around. you can get some free copies that way
