“I wanted to pass along these photos from the hanging of “Islands and
Bridges” a show at Upper Playgrounds Fifty 24F Gallery in San Francisco curated
by the Workhorse Collective. It
opens tonight, Thursday January 6th 2005,7:30-9:30 p.m.
I just got
back from hanging the show and must say it looks amazing! The gallery is filled
with so much amazing artwork it could have easily been 2 seperate shows. This
show is definetly going to be off the handle!
Pisa 73’s utilization
of post consumer product pieces are absolutely stunning, Pete Woallenger brought
out the spinning pirate ship steering wheel, Logan Hicks never ceasing to stop
you in your tracks, evol ct ink rockin it , adam 5100, everything but the
kitchen sink is in this one, However I managed to bring the window frames from
the house featured in hitchcock’s classic “Vertigo” and revamp them with a more
permanent purpose.
If you’re in or around S.F. This is a great chance
to see an exhibition featuring worldwide artists breaking boundaries with the
stencil artform. If you dont get a chance to see the show in person check it out
in the coming issue of Vapor’s Magazine.
see you there.
/>cheers!” -EMPTE EYES
