One of our all time favorite artists in Blek le Rat in Paris. We were thrilled to learn this week that King Adz has been conducting a series of interviews with Blek for a film called 'Streetdreams'.

Prior to the release of the film, Adz has cut a 10 minute excerpt as part of a TV pilot called '100proofMIXTAPE'

Give 'Em Props - Roadsworth on Andy Goldsworthy

"This little gem by Andy Goldsworthy embodies the beauty that can result when a man interacts harmoniously with his environment (this is not to be interpreted as an endorsement of sheep lovers of the world for example.) This peice reflects for me the rare symbiosis of simplicity, patience, elegance and impossibility that epitomizes Mr. Goldsworthy's work (or is it the work that epitomizes the symbiosis?). This simple, yet no doubt agonizingly wrought ice spiral that I discovered relatively recently eclipses other works of art that had an impact on me and that I was exposed to while growing up like various prints by Hokusai and Joan Miro for example. Looking at Andy Goldsworthy's work almost makes me want to trade in my life as city slicker for one of hippy rural bliss...almost."... Roadsworth

New Yorkl | February 18 | ROJO:Gold

ROJO.gold

Friday, February 18th - March 20th, 2005
Opening Reception: Friday, February 18, 2005 7-10pm

Stay Gold Gallery is pleased to present the group
show, ROJO.gold, an exhibition showcasing the most
cutting edge artistic talent from Barcelona, the US
and elsewhere internationally. Co-curated by
independent curator Yasha Wallin and the Barcelona
based art/design magazine ROJO®, the exhibition will
bring artists working in a similar style around the
globe together in a common setting.

Barcelona has a young emerging art scene with a focus
on design. The city's rich cultural history and
artistic landscape has served as an influence to
visitors and locals alike. Barcelona's local artists
similarly borrow from America's pop-culture and
artistic presence. The artists selected for this
exhibition represent a unique product of this
convergence of contemporary art and design.

From internationally acclaimed to local heroes, all
fourteen artists represented in the show are major
contributors to ROJO® and this emerging art/design
culture.
