Yesterday our friend Swoon went into the Freedom
Tunnel here in New York. She writes - “It’s a place which was previously
abandoned and then occupied by a large community of people later termed the
“mole people”. They were routed when Amtrak bought it and then put the tunnel
back into use. There are some beautiful surviving murals painted by freedom
chris, hence the name freedom tunnel”
