“The Chinese Connection” Artist: Logan Hicks (United States)
ARTISTS NOTES: This is a poster I did for the Hollywood Remix show was of the Bruce Lee “The Chinese Connection”. Originally i wanted to cut this intricate stencil that broke the image of Bruce Lee down into super detailed line art. I tried it a couple of times, and after spending about 15 hours on it, decided to scrap it and go with a different image of Bruce. I came up with this one because I thought it had the full Bruce “feel.” For the color scheme, i used one of my favorites - silvers and reds. It seemed appropriate for it. The Chinese red in the background contrasted well against the silver tones that seem to mirror the old black and white movie feel. Even though the film wasn’t black and white, I felt that the silvers implied that there was history behind the movie.
THE DETAILS: The artwork measures 26 1/4” wide by 39 1/4” long. The artwork is mounted on museum board and is in excellent condition. The work will ship from New York City.
