COLLECTOR'S NOTES: Gaetane Michaux's intricate laser cut puzzle is both complex and facinating. The piece merges two recent Hollywood movie posters - one from Spiderman and a second from Catwoman. We first met Gaetane (who is originally from Belgium) here in New York about two years ago. Because she doesn't own a television, she spends all of her free time making art. This work echos Gaetane's formal training as an architect as the piece precisely fits together with the buildings in the background juxtaposed to create a futuristic world where both Spiderman and Catwoman live.
