Fresh Stuff From... Yok in Perth, Australia

"I'm interested in giving something for people to believe in. Hopefully pedestrians will see these images and start to take notice of them, and build a feeling of hope that something is out there. something to believe in. It might be a bit too much to ask, but people need something when they are feeling depressed to give them hope. In Medieval times gargoyles were believed to ward off evil spirits. A myth exists that a dragon called La Gargouille which caused destruction with it's firey breath was burnt at the stake by a saint, but the neck and head would not burn. Its abillity to breath fire made them resilliant to heat. These reptillian remnants were mounted on the town wall and became a model for gargoyles to come. At the moment they have been put up on the roof tops of PERTH (Australia) and MELBOURNE and soon to be apperaing in SYDNEY when i go there tomorrow for my new exhibition." -- Yok
