On a trip out to Barcelona this Spring I began noticing new works signed as Freaklüb - stickers, tags and fresh-as-a-daisy paintings featuring a curious red-haired girl. At the time, not many people knew who the artists were behind these bold and sharp designs with unusually flat and bright colours. It wasn't until returning home that I found out that they were friends of Nano4814 who had appeared in the Stencil Graffiti book. So after a bit of investigation contact was made and I feel lucky to present them in the upcoming book - Street Logos. In the meanwhile here are the very interesting vitals...

AGE?
Well, freaklub grafffics are three person, but only two of ours usually works on street. We have 22 years ( she's "empty" ) and 24 ( g1 and trulben ).

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CREATING STREET ART?
I'm searching different of xpression on street for 5 years, but with Freaklub on the straight edge.. more than 2 years...
WHAT DID U DO LAST NIGHT?
Painting one poster for bombing.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE THING TO EAT FOR DINNER?
Italian food ( pizza, cannelonni ).
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FICTIONAL CHARACTER?
Well, we have a fetish charachter, is ENID of Daniel Clowes in "Ghost world", buff!, ENID RULES! She has a real behaviour infront of life. We recommend to read the comic, and after view the film ( it's better the comic ).
WHAT DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE IN YOUR POCKETS?
We carry always a bag as our pockets, empty has many cloth without pockets. We carry money, the keys for returning to home, kleenex, some marker and some sticker ( strickly law ). The necessary for surviving.
IF YOU WERE "GIVEN MORE TIME", WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT?
Well, the day is so long, and we have many hours for making a lot of things. The next day is coming and will have more time for it. We would like to spend creating, and for RELAX, too. However, "create" is like a therapy.
WHO DO YOU LOVE?
Some special persons around us when we are in crisis time.
We are not friends of "the competitors". Barcelona is something like a "competition" or a "savage place" where the strongest survive ( said one day "X" person ). We are not agree with this answer and we are not in a competition. To be sure and safe.
HOW DID U GET STARTED IN CREATING ART FOR THE STREET?
I'm searching different of xpression on street for 5 years,, but making dirty tags and shitty pieces... After that I started with my brother making shadows of people on the wall.
I decided for starting other time with my girlfriend from 2+half years making first tags as "freaklub grafffics" and 10 months making pieces filled in many colors and forms with the red haired girl.
WHAT OTHER STREET ARTIST DO YOU ADMIRE AND WHY?
Here in Barcelona we admire INOCUO ( other semi-member of FREAKLuB! we don't know what's the link with us yet ) that, we think that's complete cause works many areas of design, he makes illustration, graffiti, typography, video, works as Dj, too..etc. etc...many things... is a complete person as designer with a high quality works and get friendly with him cause's a great person. We like many artist, like BORIS HOPPEK ( minimal way on the street ). KID ACNE ( invisible spies crew ), MUDWIG DANS ( a great language ), DERRICK HODGSON ( madness charachters ), BARNSTORMERS CREW ( great shouts to Maya Hayuk...) and SCRAWL COLLECTIVERS ( hello, Will Barras! ).
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CITY, NEIGHBOURHOOD OR BLOCK TO POST AND/OR TO SEE STREET ART?
We are fascinated with London, many posters, stickers and stencils... We would like to go to Nyc and Japan, too. For ours Japan is a fetished place, is a culture with a high visual culture and for ours is a great impact understand this place. We study the japanese language ( maybe ) for going sometime in our life.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING NOW? CAN U GIVE US A SNEAK PEEK?
Well, good vibes for wooster crew. We carry two months making some animated chapters with our character. The project is called LAILAND. We found two guys who are working in 3d software ( Maya 5 ) and we xplained them that we would like to make some project together. They are called QWERT and are from Barcelona, too. After that, we xplain to a friend if he would like to make the music for the animations. He's NEONWERK, he makes electro and xperimental music. Freaklub would like to get greetings to this three persons for believing in our work. We don't know where's the final of this lap, but we are sure that u will like it.
